Is a CPO Certification Required in Las Vegas?
Yes, a CPO certification is required statewide in Las Vegas for anyone responsible for operating public or commercial pools and spas. The state of Nevada mandates that all public and commercial pools have a certified operator to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations. According to the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), Qualified Operators must complete a national Qualified Pool Operator certification course that meets criteria outlined in the most current Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Once certified, operators must register with the SNHD before working at any aquatic facility or with any pool company. Registrations expire in conjunction with the national certification and must be renewed prior to expiration.
With hundreds of regulated pools across the region, pool operators must be trained in maintaining proper water chemistry, managing filtration systems, and following local codes. Our CPO course is recognized by the SNHD, making it the most efficient and accessible way to earn your Las Vegas CPO certification.
