HVAC student training
HVAC Student at a Trade School
  • "I’ve always been drawn to hands-on work. I started in construction and spent a few years doing painting, which I enjoyed, but I knew I wanted something more, something with stability, a skill I could build a long-term career on. I considered different trades, like electrical and plumbing, but when a friend told me about HVAC and how well he was doing, it really caught my attention.

What stood out to me about HVAC was that it’s always in demand. No matter the season, people need heating and cooling, and that job security was a big deal for me. I also liked that compared to other trades, HVAC seemed like a good fit—plumbing, for example, involves heavy lifting with pipes, and I wanted something where I could still work with my hands but in a way that made sense for me.

I started looking at different HVAC schools—Lincoln Tech, Fortis, and a few others—but they were very expensive, and a lot of them didn’t offer much hands-on training. That was a deal breaker for me. Then I found The Training Center, and everything they offered just made sense. The tuition was way more affordable, and they emphasized hands-on learning, small class sizes, and working closely with instructors to make sure we actually understood the material.

Since starting the program, I’ve learned way more than I expected. When I first walked in, I had zero experience in HVAC, now I can explain how to install a system, wire a thermostat, or set up a condenser. I even find myself talking to friends about it, and they have no idea what I’m saying. That tells me I’m really learning and retaining the skills.

The instructors here actually care. They don’t just take your money and move on, they make sure you understand the science behind everything, they break it down step by step, and they always check in to see if you have questions. The hands-on experience is just like being out in the field, so by the time you finish, you know what you’re doing.

For anyone thinking about getting into HVAC, I’d tell them to check out The Training Center. It’s affordable, flexible, and focused on making sure you succeed. They even work with your schedule if you have a job. If you want real hands-on training and a school that actually prepares you for the job, this is the place to be.

  • "I used to work in a restaurant, and we were always dealing with broken ice machines and refrigerators. Every time they broke down, I’d thought it would be great if I knew how to fix them myself, that’s what first got me interested in HVAC.

A friend who went through The Training Center HVAC program told me about it and had nothing but good things to say. I looked into a few schools, but what stood out here was the hands-on training and flexibility with the class schedule.

The instructors here made a huge difference in my learning. They took the time to break things down in a way that made sense, and let me learn at my own pace. I’m a hands-on learner, so getting to work with real equipment instead of just sitting through lectures was awesome.

Beyond just the technical skills, this program helped me grow as a person. They taught us skills for success, from troubleshooting to developing good work habits. Now, I’m ready to start my career. I want to gain experience in the field and eventually run my own HVAC business. If you’re thinking about HVAC and you’re willing to put in the work, I highly recommend this program. It’s been a great experience for me."

  • "The HVAC program is very, very good. I’ve learned a lot so far. I came in with some prior knowledge, but the hands-on training here has taken it to another level. For me, learning by doing is much more effective than just reading about it.

One of the biggest advantages of this program is the flexibility. I looked at other schools, but my shift schedule made it impossible to attend other schools. The Training Center’s structure makes it much easier to balance work and learning. I also really appreciate the mix of in-person labs and Zoom sessions. The ability to go back and review the Zoom lessons in the portal has been really helpful.

What sets this program apart is the level of support from the instructors. They take the time to explain things, answer questions, and make sure you really understand. There’s no judgment, just a strong focus on learning and improving. The hands-on training is excellent. We get to work with real industry equipment like condensers, evaporators, HVAC systems and technology in the field.

Before, I didn’t really understand electrical concepts, but now I feel confident in my ability to read schematics and troubleshoot equipment. I’ve already applied what I’ve learned at work, especially with HVAC and boiler systems.

I’ve recommended this program to my coworkers because it’s practical, affordable, and gives you the skills you need. Plus, earning my EPA 608 certification was a huge bonus.

This program exceeded my expectations. I’ve gained skills that I use every day in my job, and I feel much more confident as a technician. I’d definitely recommend the HVAC program to anyone looking to advance their career in this field.”
