Boiler Class Overview

Our Boiler Operations, Maintenance & Inspection Bootcamp is a comprehensive 1-day, in-person class held at our New Jersey training facility. Built for operators, technicians, and maintenance professionals, this hands-on course gives you a direct command of the boiler room. You will gain the practical skills required to run safe, efficient, and code‑compliant boiler systems. Through real‑world demonstrations, you get directly into daily and weekly maintenance tasks, inspection documentation, and core safety protocols. The curriculum aligns strictly with NBIC, ASME, OSHA, and NFPA standards, ensuring you are field-ready to meet strict insurance and inspection requirements. By the end of this class, you will be able to execute proper blowdowns, verify safety devices, maintain accurate logbooks, and maximize energy efficiency. Build real-world boiler operation skills taught by licensed professionals who bring their field experience directly into the lab.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Boiler operation roles and safety responsibilities.
  • System components, controls, and sequence of operation.
  • Protection devices and verification procedures (LWCO, safety valves, flame safeguards, interlocks).
  • Daily and weekly maintenance routines and proper documentation.
  • Logbook management and inspection preparation.
  • Energy‑saving practices and identifying system losses.
  • Codes, compliance, and inspection readiness (ASME, NBIC, OSHA).
  • Communication and turnover best practices for shift changes.

Who Should Take This Class

This class is built for operators, maintenance technicians, facility engineers, plant supervisors, building managers, and anyone new to the field looking to accelerate their skills.

Class Requirements

No license or prior boiler experience is required. The bootcamp is designed for both newcomers and working professionals who want to refine their skills. Our training adapts to your experience level and focuses on real‑world operation, maintenance, and compliance fundamentals.

Hands‑On Activities

In this class, students will practice the following boiler procedures:

  • Perform a simulated LWCO integrity test and water‑column blowdown
  • Walk through a burner start‑up sequence and identify interlock faults
  • Inspection readiness drill with logs and device test records
  • Complete a mock round, interpret key readings, and spot out-of-limit conditions.
  • Energy analysis, review stack‑temperature data to spot efficiency opportunities.

Included Materials You Will Receive

  • Checklists (daily/weekly/monthly)
  • SOP template
  • inspection prep checklist
  • rounds/turnover forms
  • logbook exemplars
  • safety-device test record sheets
  • troubleshooting quick-reference.
